Certification and Training Level

Our training usually comes as one of three types:-
  • No Certificate
  • Certificate of Attendance
  • Certificate of Successful Completion

If this is an NFPA 1006 compliant course we subscribe to the requirement for "Annual Review. "

We provide a two year certification cycle and do require that candidates re-certify on the required knowledge and skills every two years.

Types of Certificatation Period

ONE OFF CERTIFICATION TRAINING
Some Certification training we provide or facilitate require no renewal or re-certification. Such examples would be the VHF Operator Course or Powerboat Certification. We recommend regular practice, continuing development and review to ensure that you remain up to date and competent in the training.

TWO YEAR RE-CERTIFICATION (NFPA Compliant Training)
Re-Certifying on time every two-years is a requirement to maintain your level of certification.

This ensures that you will maintain your require knowledge and skills in a specialist discipline and always have an up to date  certification to display, provide to your employers, show to the public and clients and others.

Should you have any sort of incident you can also provide a training and certification trail and record to reduce any concern that you were not current in your training and practice of skills and updated information.

A valid current certificate may create more opportunities for you in terms of recognition, professionalism, employment, promotions, client retention, public perception and your training integrity.

This would show your commitment to ongoing education and your dedication to staying in the know with the ever changing industry. A valid certification may also be required for you to offer your services as well as liability insurance.

As a Rescue or Medical professional your certification is a requirement and part of your professional portfolio.

Adequate practice, logged hours, operational and theoretical membership renewal (and current First Aid and CPR from a recognised provider at a standard needed) may be required to maintain an active certification status. We are committed to helping you stay certified and professionally registered with your various institutions and standards.

FAQs
  • You could recertify any time in the 12 month leading up to your re certification and in the same month of your expiry.
  • If you have missed your recertification by more than one (1) month and less than one (1) year, you may able to reinstate your certification by completing a Practical Exam with a (live assessment of your knowledge and skills put into practice) and maintain your original certification date. First Aid and CPR would be up to date before a new certificate will be issued. An extra day would be added to recert and a fee payable for the extra day usually $199 (+ Tax if applicable) may be required.
  • If you have been expired for more than one (1) year you will be required to complete the full original course and all theory and practical exams again, your certification date will be adjusted to reflect the new date.
  • If you have misplaced your issued certificates, and are 'in-date' then replacements may be issued at a re-issue cost of $49 per. If you are out of certification, then the certification record would likely be archived. Therefore a $28 'search fee' applies "per discipline." That is whether we locate or can re-print the certificate or not.

Please note extension fees and reinstatement fees are non-refundable.

We track all your conference activities with us and keep a record of all the CPDs (Continuing Professional Development credits) CPD you have accumulated. When a Re certification notice is sent to you, all you have to do is confirm the number of CPDs we have recorded for each of your certifications. If you have enough CPDs to renew, simply renew your annual membership and send us a photocopy of your current CPR (obtained during a live course within the last year).

When the proper Re certification documentation has been received and processed by Advanced Rescue by DIMERSAR, your new membership card and certificate will be available to print from your online Member Profile within 24 hours.

Time to Re-Certify?

We recommend that 6 months before your certification expires you look to find a date to come in and recertify.

Your original "Technician" level course would have (usually) been 5 days long with skills testing and review of required knowledge and academic theory.  If you re-certify within the determined time (2 year) period your required attendance is just two days and would re-certify you for another two years.

Are you "RE-certifying?"  Then your current Certificate should have an "in date," (not expired) certified date.

Like many official courses, licenses, designations, etc; if the Certification has expired then it is not a 're-certification.'
